Along the stretch of road from Honokowai to Napili, when you go matters more than what you order. Each small counter keeps its own schedule, and those schedules decide where dinner happens on a given night. In 2026 two changes filled the last gaps in the week. Dang Dang Noodles opened at Napili Plaza in May, and on July 11 Papi's Ohana in Honokowai started serving pizza on Saturdays.
The table below lays out the week using each business's own posted hours. The rows tell the story better than any menu does.

Running under all of these are a few places that open every day. Amigo's at Napili Plaza lists 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Napili Market's plaza page lists 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Captain Jack's Island Grill at Sands of Kahana posts daily hours of 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The daily places are steady. The small counters change from day to day, so they are the ones that give each night its own shape.
Monday and Tuesday Belong to Honokowai
At the start of the week, Dang Dang Noodles is closed and Papi's Ohana is running at full strength. Papi's sits at 3481 Lower Honoapiilani Road. On Mondays and Tuesdays the barista window opens at 6 a.m., the bakery line at 7 a.m., and the pizzeria at 5 p.m. You can call in a pizza order from 3 p.m. to hold a pickup time. The bakery posts a warning that it may close early once it sells out. Its cinnamon rolls take three days to make, and Tasting Table's 50 States Awards named them the best in Hawaii, so a 2 p.m. closing time can come earlier than the sign says.
Papi's describes itself as a family-owned, made-from-scratch bakery "built on love, faith, and aloha." Since August 2023 it has used donations raised through GiveSendGo to give families financial support and homemade goods at no cost. That history is part of why the counter matters here as much as the menu does.
On those same two days, the Napili Farmers Market opens Monday morning from 8 a.m. to noon, mauka of Napili Plaza at 4900 Honoapiilani Highway. The market's hours are worth checking before you go. Its website lists Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday mornings. A November 2024 Maui Now story about the market's expansion said it expected to open daily, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., starting in early 2025. In that same story, Maui Land & Pineapple CEO Race Randle described the space as a hub for West Maui families.
Wednesday Is the Hinge
Wednesday is when most of the schedules flip. Papi's Ohana is closed all day, and so is A'A Roots Maui at Napili Plaza. On this one day of the week, The Coffee Store stays open until 5 p.m. instead of closing at 1 p.m. The farmers market is open that morning. At 3 p.m. Dang Dang Noodles opens for its first service of the week.
So on Wednesday, dinner moves from Honokowai up to Napili Plaza. The plaza sits at 5095 Napilihau Street. Alexander & Baldwin, a Hawaii commercial real estate company, announced Dang Dang's opening. A&B senior property manager Michael Oh said, "We're pleased to welcome Dang Dang Noodles to Nāpili Plaza as we continue to expand the variety of food and beverage offerings available to the West Maui community." The plaza's dining directory now lists seven names: A'A Roots Maui, Amigo's, Dang Dang Noodle, Joey's Kitchen, Mama's Ribs & Rotisserie, Napili Market, and The Coffee Store.
The Plaza's Evening Has a Long Root
Dang Dang Noodles can look like a new arrival, but its owners have been at the plaza for years. It is the third restaurant concept from the team behind Joey's Kitchen, which opened at Napili Plaza in 2018. Co-owner Joey Macadangdang has described the opening as both a milestone and a homecoming. The concept draws on his childhood memories of fresh noodles in the Philippines and his training at Japan's Yamato Noodle School.
"From ramen, udon, chow fun, and Thai rice noodles, we're excited to bring a fresh variety of flavorful noodle dishes to the community we've called home for many years."
Macadangdang said that in Maui Now's May 11, 2026 story on the opening. With that, one team now runs two of the plaza's seven dining counters. Its newer place is open Wednesday through Sunday, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. The restaurant posts updates through @dangdangnoodlemaui.
Some of Front Street Came North
Amigo's is the other evening anchor at the plaza. Its restaurant on Front Street in Lahaina was lost in the August 2023 fire, and it has reopened at Napili Plaza, Suite 110B. In August 2024, Honolulu Magazine reported that Amigo's planned to reopen at the plaza but had not set a date. Its plaza listing now shows daily hours and the phone number (808) 661-0210.
Amigo's is part of a larger pattern. On August 11, 2026, Honolulu Magazine published an update on 91 Lahaina restaurants, bars, snack shops, and food trucks. It found that more than three dozen have reopened, though many reopened outside Lahaina. Three of the reopened businesses are in this neighborhood:
- Captain Jack's Island Grill reopened at Sands of Kahana, 4299 Lower Honoapiilani Road. MENU Magazine reports the reopening in January 2025, after the move from Front Street.
- Penne Pasta Café now runs as a food truck in Napili. Its order page gives 4910 Honoapiilani Highway as the address but lists no hours. A food truck directory says the exact spot can change, so call (808) 661-6633 before you go.
- Badass Coffee closed its Lahaina location, but the same report says its Honokowai location is still open.
Those businesses, together with the 2018 Joey's Kitchen team, are a large part of why the plaza's daily-hours core is so dependable. With Amigo's and Captain Jack's both open every day until 9 p.m., the corridor has two fixed evening options on top of the counters that rotate.
Saturday Was the Gap That Closed in July
Before July 11, 2026, Saturday was the one evening when Papi's Ohana had no service. The pizzeria ran Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. It now runs on Saturday as well, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with phone orders at 808-868-2000 from 3 p.m. Its bakery and barista window still keep the Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday schedule, so a Saturday at Papi's means pizza only.
On Saturday, Dang Dang Noodles is open at the plaza and the Napili Farmers Market opens in the morning. With the new Papi's night, Saturday is now one of the fullest days of the week:
- Coffee from 6 a.m. at The Coffee Store.
- The farmers market from 8 a.m. to noon, listed hours permitting.
- A late breakfast or lunch at A'A Roots Maui, open until 3:30 p.m.
- Noodles at Dang Dang from 3 p.m.
- Pizza pickup at Papi's from 5 p.m.
Sunday is now the quietest day for the small counters. Papi's is closed and the farmers market's website lists no Sunday hours. Dang Dang Noodles stays open, as do the daily places: Amigo's, Napili Market, and Captain Jack's.
Getting Between the Counters
Since Wednesday, July 1, 2026, Maui Bus has had a new fixed-route stop in Napili. On the same date, the County made fixed-route rides free for students of any age with a student ID and for County employees with a County ID. Maui Now's announcement doesn't give the exact location of the stop and refers riders to the Maui Bus app or the alerts section of mauibus.org. For a teenager heading to Dang Dang after school on a Wednesday, the free fare makes the trip easier.
One note on the directory itself: Napili Plaza's online tenant pages date mostly from 2025, and the Napili Market page dates from 2021. Treat them as the center's published list, not a live record of who is open on a given day. Hours on this stretch change in small steps, as Papi's Saturday night shows, so a quick call is always worth making.
