Azeka Makai sits at 1280 South Kihei Road. Kalama Park's skating rink is at 1900 South Kihei Road. Starting tomorrow night, Friday, Oct. 23, nearly every Kihei Halloween event on this year's island-wide calendar falls at one of those two addresses or close by. That includes costume contests, a lit-up bike parade, skating with candy, and two trunk-or-treats on the 31st.
The island-wide lists that went up this month sort Maui's Halloween events by region. Grouped by night and by place instead, Kihei's week turns out to be one connected stretch of road. It starts at Azeka, moves down to Kalama Park in the middle of the week, and comes back to Azeka on Halloween night.

Most of these dates come from Maui Family Magazine's Halloween roundup, published Oct. 1. The magazine notes that details can change, so check with each organizer before you head out.
Friday the 23rd Starts on the Mauka Side of Azeka
Azeka is on both sides of South Kihei Road, between Lipoa Street and Piʻikea Avenue. That's worth knowing this week, because the two Azeka events are on opposite sides. The opener is on the mauka side. KHON2's October markets guide lists the Kīhei 4th Friday Town Party, Halloween Edition, for Friday, Oct. 23, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Azeka Shopping Center Mauka. It describes a free street party with food trucks, artisan crafters, a costume contest and live bands.
Maui Family Magazine calls the costume contest the annual Keiki Costume Contest. It describes the night as Kihei Town coming out in its best Halloween costumes for live music and vendors. Contest times and parking have changed over the years, so look for this year's details from the organizers rather than going by past Octobers.
Kihei Elementary PTA's Fall Family Festival is the same Friday at Kihei Elementary School. The magazine lists a trunk-or-treat, a haunted house and other activities but doesn't give hours. If you have keiki at the school, you'll be choosing between two events that night or fitting both in. Once the PTA posts its hours, you'll know whether that's doable.
The One Weekend Trip South
Saturday the 24th is the only night of the week when Kihei's Halloween calendar sends you down the road to Wailea. Maui Family Magazine lists Keiki Halloween at The Shops at Wailea from 3 to 7 p.m., with trick-or-treating across the whole center, balloon animals, a magic show, and what the listing calls "the biggest keiki/pet costume contest on the island." If your dog has a costume ready, this is its night.
Midweek Moves to Kalama Park
The Hawaii Electric Light Parade is a Kihei biking club. Its Love to Ride team profile describes it as family friendly and open to everyone, with weekly bike parades covered in LED lights. That profile gives the regular meetup as Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. by the Kalama Park tennis courts.
Halloween week changes the schedule twice. The Wednesday, Oct. 28 ride falls on the club's usual night but meets earlier, at 5:50 p.m. Maui Family Magazine notes that's sunset. A second ride is added on Friday, Oct. 30, also meeting at 5:50 p.m. at the tennis courts. The magazine's instructions are short: bring your bike, light it up, and wear your best Halloween costume. If you know the Wednesday ride, plan to arrive more than half an hour earlier than usual on both nights. If your keiki have been waiting for an excuse to wrap their handlebars in lights, this is it.
Friday the 30th Puts Two Events in the Same Park
The 30th is the busiest night in Kalama Park. The Kihei Skating Rink is run by the Maui Inline Hockey Association, which describes itself as a nonprofit offering community skating at 1900 South Kihei Road in Kalama Park. Its Trick or Treat and Rollerblade event runs from 3 to 7 p.m. that Friday, with trick-or-treating, skating and a costume contest.
That window overlaps with the second bike ride, which meets at the tennis courts at 5:50 p.m. in the same park. A family could skate through the afternoon, change out of skates and into bike lights, and be at the tennis courts by sunset without moving the car.
For skates, the association's public-skating page lists rentals at $10 a pair, cash or Venmo, and free skating if you bring your own. Those are the rink's standard terms. Ask MIHA what applies to the Halloween session before you count on them.
Halloween Night Comes Back Toward Azeka
The 31st falls on a Saturday this year, and Kihei's two trunk-or-treats share the evening, with an hour of overlap.
Kihei Lutheran Church goes first. Its October 2026 newsletter announces the annual KLC Trunk or Treat for Saturday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the church parking lot. It describes the evening as a chance to welcome keiki and families from the community. Decorated cars are asked to arrive by 4:50 p.m. to set up. On costumes, the newsletter keeps it relaxed:
"Costumes are encouraged, but certainly not required."
Nalu's South Shore Grill hosts the second, from 6 to 8 p.m. Maui Family Magazine describes keiki going trick-or-treating from trunk to trunk. Nalu's is at Azeka Makai, 1280 South Kihei Road, across the road from where 4th Friday opened the week eight days earlier.
Because the hours overlap, one sequence is possible:
- Arrive at Kihei Lutheran's lot around 5 p.m., when the trunks open.
- Leave around 6 p.m. or a little after, when Nalu's trunk-or-treat begins.
- Finish at Azeka Makai before 8 p.m., when Nalu's wraps up.
Whether you fit in both depends on your keiki's bedtimes and how long each stop takes. Kihei Lutheran's newsletter also asks for candy, cash or healthy-treat donations, and for extra hands to welcome families. If you'd like to help without decorating a car, you can.
Lining Up the Week
Kihei's Halloween begins and ends at Azeka, with Kalama Park in the middle. Wailea on the 24th is the one detour. Everything else fits on South Kihei Road, so a family can choose by night: Friday the 23rd for the town party, Wednesday or Friday for the lights, Friday afternoon for skating, Saturday the 31st for trunks. On a busy night, you could park once and walk.
Two things are worth checking the day before. Confirm hours for Kihei Elementary's festival, and confirm the rink's Halloween pricing with MIHA. Maui Family Magazine's warning that event details may change applies to the whole list, so check each organizer's own page or social account before you load the car.
At Salt & Light Ohana, we call Maui home too, and we love seeing a costume contest at Azeka or a line of glowing bikes at Kalama Park bring Kihei together.
